| COMMENTS: Basket-Wave, solid gold Parkers are known in 51, 45 and maybe 61 models. For these Tiffany editions, it is guessed that the gold represents Tiffany's work with Parker pen guts. | |||

| COMMENTS: "VS" is an odd duck short run Parker produced 1946-7, billed- or so it is said, as the Vacumatic Successor. It has a Vac-style open nib, without an arrow though, a modified button-fill system, striped-duofoldesque clip and a 51-eque clutch. This one has the unique-to-model clear feed (black rubber feeds are found too). Gold-filled caps are well less common than are Lustraloy caps. This one is, well, mint. Unused. Has price sticker on barrel. It has a functioning sac, but I have not had it formally resaced since purchasing it from prior owner. Should work well. May not be returned if inked or dipped. I can have a new sac placed if you prefer, for $25 an modest shipping delay. | |||

It has a Vac-style open nib, without an arrow though, a modified button-fill system, striped-duofoldesque clip and a 51-eque clutch. This one has added weirdness in that it is English, done in Cordovan, vs the USA-made Rust, with a wide-lip cap not found on USA pens either. There is a large scuff on the cap with brassing on the scuff. The barrel is excellent. | |||

| COMMENTS: About the most beautiful finish available in this series. Converter fill is more reliable than capillary fill. MInt condition. Two great nib options. Not much more to say. | |||

| COMMENTS: Introduced around 1947, the Vacumatic Successor appeared before the demise of the Vac, proper, and did not long succeed it. Featuring a mix of features from the era, the pen has a very 51-ish cap with blade clip, button filler, Vac-style nib but sans arrow emblem, and with bizarre clear feed i've heard is of lucite. I believe these were produced in just one size and in four colors. This one is superb. | |||

| COMMENTS: Prototype
VP with lined barrel, unmarked nib and gold tone "VP" on the cap. The
generic gripping section does have a crack in the plastic near
the clutch, but the key barrel, nib and cap features are superb. Only
one i've seen. Spent some time showing it to Susan Wirth, who
collects this era more actively than do I. Truly rare pen. |
